PGI Committee System Guidlines
| 1. |
Most
PGI work should be done in committee meetings, well before regular
PGI Board of Directors meetings. |
| 2. |
Board meetings should primarily consist
of recommendations submitted by the committees. |
| 3. |
Committee
Chairs are expected to submit written report to PGI president at
least 2 weeks prior to regular Board meetings. |
| 4. |
Every committee should have a clearly-defined,
and written, purpose and function. |
| 5. |
Committee
purpose, function, and membership list should be maintained on PGI
web-site. |

Awards Committee (Top)
Coordinate selection of award recipients. Establish criteria for candidates.
Maintain list of awards. Makes certain award candidates are nominated
on schedule. Arrange for plaques to be made.

Membership Committee (Top)
Responsible for maintaining an accurate list of members, maintaining
current membership forms, reviewing applications for new members, presenting
new applications to the PGI Board, notifying the treasurer and newsletter
editor of new members and their addresses, and supervising membership
campaigns.

Legislative Issues Committee (Top)
Monitors and reports on legislative activities affecting professional
geologists. Responsible for notifying PGI president of these activities.
Maintains communication with Board of Licensing Geologists.
